Dana helped me sell my home of 16 years and then a year later purchase a condo. She was knowledgeable, and fun to work with. The paperwork and recommendations about negotiation made sense to me. Since it was my first house and I had raised my children there, it was emotionally difficult to go through things quickly. Dana gave me space, yet encouraged me as I went forward.
I made the changes to the house that she recommended and felt that I got a good price within a fairly short time. She also referred me to people I was able to trust for staging, inspection and how the closing would go.
When I was ready to purchase again a year later, she knew me. We reconnected and looked at several properties. Dana was sensitive to the lifestyle that I wanted and showed me things I found as well as sorted through the listings to pick things I would probably like. We kept going after the first offer I made did not work out. I am in a place that fits my life-even my grown kids think so! I have known Dana since my early twenties. We met when I was looking to purchase my first home. I must have dragged her through over 30 houses. She was unbelievably patient with me and never gave up hope of finding me my perfect starter home. I remained in that house for 8 years and when I had moved away and needed someone to trust and help me through a long distance house safe; she was the on[y one I would ask.
Dana, once again, was amazing throughout this process. She had helped with staging the house, had an open house every weekend, and she would even stop by during the week to check on the house since no one was living in it. She went way beyond what I would have asked for in a Realtor. I believe the house sold in less than a month and that was at the time of the declining market that alone would tell you about her work ethic.

I just wanted to extend a big thank you to Dana Cody for all her hard work for us over the years, but especially in our most recent real estate transaction. Dana helped us relocate to Portland almost 10 years ago and secure our first home. About 2 years ago, we were ready to relocate and Dana assisted us in watching the market and guiding us as when was “the right time” to sell.
Last summer, the market significantly improved and she let us know this was “the time”. My husband and I decided that we wanted to put our house on the market early 2015. She came over to do a walk through and made suggestions for preparing the house for sale given our 6 month time frame to get ready. The list was not long, and despite the fact that Dana had a team of professionals she recommended to help us complete the repairs and freshening, we felt we could do the fixes ourselves. In the meantime, we found our new home and didn’t want to wait to sell for fear of losing this nice piece of real estate. Dana was on the phone with the seller’s realtor within hours of me contacting her saying “this is the one we want.” We made an offer and before the ink was dry she already had inspections lined up in anticipation of the sellers saying yes to our offer. No time was lost in waiting around for the inspections etc. Dana was personally at each inspection and we received notification of all results very quickly. We were able to go from seeing the house we loved, to moving in, in just 21 days- the day after Christmas no less. I doubt most realtors would spend their Christmas Eve with their clients signing final documents- but Dana did, and we really appreciate her willingness to give up her family time to help my family have a new home.
So that leaves us with the harder side, the selling of our existing home on a very busy street in close in Portland. The clock was ticking and as we fixed things, more items popped up. I will be honest here, it got a bit overwhelming. Having known Dana for a very long time- we knew all her suggestions were the right ones, but it seemed a lot. But that’s how Dana is- she has great attention to detail and is attune to the market and what buyers are looking for. Fortunately for us, that team she mentioned 5 months earlier, well Dana started making calls for us to get the painter and the wood guy and soon our 90 year old Tudor was sparkling. We appreciated the fact that she made the calls for us, I know other realtors don’t do that for their clients. The house went up for sale and Dana was VERY patient in my daily emails asking for status. We went pending in 5 weeks, which was excellent for our busy street. The buyer was difficult, yet Dana kept her cool, working closely with the buyer’s realtor to ensure the deal was successful, we closed escrow in April. My husband and I firmly believe in Dana’s abilities. She has taken great care of us in 3 very different real estate transactions. She is always patient in explaining the different aspects of the transactions. Even when things got tense in our recent sale, she listened, let us express our frustrations and then she went right to work with the buyers realtor and got the job done. We have no doubt that when we want to buy or sell again; Dana will be the professional we will count on to get the job done.
